Digital Learning

Students can expect technology to play a regular role in their learning at Marymount. Marymount teachers use technology as a learning tool to make learning fun, exciting, and engaging. Whether they are using tablets to create digital art, laptops to narrate and present digital stories, or interactive whiteboards to explore mathematical concepts, students use technology to gather, analyze, interpret, and synthesize information; present it in a professional manner; and understand its effects on social, ethical, and human issues.

Technology Resources

Our technology resources are used as a tool to support learning in all subjects. We have over 100 iPads, 3 carts of laptops, a 1:1 Chromebook program in Middle School, and many interactive screens. This increasing technology provision is supported by a dedicated Technology Integrationist who is at hand to guide teachers and support them in their use of technology in the classroom with their students.

Elementary school students will use iPads and laptops from carts. Middle School Students will also be issued a Chromebook computer. Middle School students are expected to provide both their own backpack with a protective laptop compartment and also a separate protective sleeve.

Online Learning Platforms

In addition to our technology resources, Marymount students and teachers use online learning platforms daily in the classroom.

Google Classroom is Marymount's Main learning platform for the whole school.

Teachers create and distribute assignments in Google Classroom and the platform's primary purpose is to streamline the process of sharing files and work between teachers and students.

In addition to Google Classroom our teachers periodically use the following online platforms to facilitate learning: Mathletics (Math), Rising Stars (Reading), and Seesaw (Early Years platform)

FabLab (Fabrication Laboratory)

Whether today's students go on to become astronauts, artists, engineers, scientists, or presidents, we know that the challenges their generation faces will demand creative and innovative solutions. Marymount is proud to be the first international school in France to have opened a dedicated FabLab in 2016.

What is a FabLab?  A FabLab is a digital fabrication laboratory and a place for invention, creation, discovery, and sharing. It is a space of inquiry. FabLab Maker Space is a worldwide growing network of educational digital fabrication labs that emerged from MIT’s Center for Bits & Atoms Fab Lab Program. FabLabs put cutting-edge technology for design and construction – such as electronics, 3D printers, laser cutters and robotics – into the hands of our inquisitive students.

Remote Learning at Marymount

Student well-being has always been at the heart of a Marymount education. Never has this been more important since the world of education - and indeed of our global community - was radically impacted by the spread of Covid-19. As each family faces and deals with the restrictions in their own manner, it is vital that Marymount teachers and educators create a sense of consistency and safety where children can continue to receive an education.

Remote learning at Marymount aims to:

  • create and maintain conditions that foster learning and critical thinking for students;
  • develop an emphasis on well-being and social-emotional support;
  • provide curated IT platforms and resources to support and complement teaching;
  • enhance parental engagement as educational partners; and
  • support staff well-being.

At Marymount Paris, we are preparing leaders who are agents of transformation for justice and peace
