Ballet - Early Years and Elementary
Ballet promotes physical strength and agility, boosts concentration, develops an understanding of music and rhythm, and generates a love of movement. Through exposure to dance, children enhance their sensory awareness, cognition (attention, memory, and learning), and overall consciousness which are skills that benefit children in all areas of life. Ballet offers a solid foundation and serves as a great starting point for children interested in other forms of dance such as jazz and hip-hop.
Art Club - Early Years, Elementary and Middle School
Art Club provides a creative and expressive outlet for students to explore various art forms and techniques. Through engaging projects and activities, students can develop their artistic skills, foster their imagination, and express their unique ideas.
Nature Art - Elementary
Nature art is a form of artistic exploration and expression in which creations are made from items found in nature such as leaves, sticks, bark, pebbles, nuts, petals, mud, sand, shells, water, and sunlight. It has been observed that there is an intrinsic therapeutic value to making art with these materials.
Creative Expression - Early Years
Students will be encouraged and supported in exploring their creativity through a variety of mediums such as clay, paint, wire, mark-making, construction, story-telling, music, and dance. The primary emphasis will be on nurturing each child's personal, social, and emotional growth, with the aim of understanding and celebrating their unique individuality. The class will be conducted in an open and authentic manner, fostering independence and providing guidance as students engage in child-led exploration.
Celtic Expression - Early Years
Students will be introduced to Celtic music and dance. Celtic music is a form of folk music that is not only popular in Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, but also recognized on a global scale. Throughout the trimester, students will learn basic dance steps and gradually advance to more complex footwork. The main objective of this class is to foster self-expression through music and movement, allowing students to build confidence, develop self-esteem, and explore the rich traditions of Celtic music and dance. At the end of each trimester, students showcase their new skills in a dance performance.
Théâtre en français - Elementary and Middle School
The American Conservatory is a Paris-based music and theater company. They do a little singing, a little dancing, a little clowning, a little silliness, and have a lot of fun! The program aims to teach children to be confident in their communication. It creates a supportive, positive environment to encourage this confidence through the performance of theater, music, comedy, and dance. This year, this activity will be in French.
Music Together - Early Years
Your preschooler’s musical creativity, enthusiasm, and skills are growing by leaps and bounds! In our mixed-age classes, preschoolers are the class leaders and are encouraged to contribute their ideas and lead the younger children who love to watch and imitate them. And because music learning supports all learning, your preschooler will also be developing other skills they’ll need to succeed in school and in life.
Music Band, Ensemble - Elementary and Middle School
Performing in an ensemble activates and enhances students' innate love of music-making. Students learn to listen and observe others around them by playing with their peers and strengthening their aural awareness, intonation, and balance. To participate in the music ensemble, your child must meet the following requirements: play a string, woodwind, or brass instrument and have a private teacher. (If you do not have one, we offer private lessons.) At the end of each semester, the music ensemble will perform their current work.
Music, Beginner String Group - Elementary
In these classes, students learn how to start playing a string instrument of their choice which includes the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Together, they will learn how to play their new instrument through bowing games, beginning repertoire, ear training, the basics of music theory, and how to practice at home. They will learn all this amongst their peers in a fun and supportive environment.
To participate in the beginner string group class, your child must have an instrument. There are lutiers in Paris that offer rentals for 17-20€ per month. Renting a violin is the best way to start because as your child grows they will need to change violins until they reach a full size. The lutiers also insure the instruments and can provide any necessary repairs along the way. Please contact ACP directly to receive all the information you need to rent an instrument: admissions@americanconservatoryofparis.com.
Music, Beginner Guitar Group - Elementary
In these classes, students will begin their journey with the guitar and learn fundamental techniques and skills. They will explore how to play their new instrument through strumming exercises, basic chords, introductory songs, ear training, and the essentials of music theory. Additionally, students will learn effective practice strategies to use at home. All of this will take place in a fun and supportive environment, fostering camaraderie and growth among peers.

Music, Percussion - Elementary
Our percussion class with drumming elements is an exciting opportunity for young music enthusiasts to explore rhythmic expression through percussion instruments. Led by skilled instructors, students will delve into the fundamentals of drumming techniques, rhythm patterns, and ensemble playing. This dynamic class encourages creativity and musical exploration, fostering a deep appreciation for percussion music. From collaborative drum circles to engaging rhythm games, students will develop their musical skills in a supportive and energetic environment.
To further our partnership with the American Conservatory of Paris, we are excited to offer Marymount students private music lessons after school. Lessons will take place on campus directly after school, and students of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join! All lessons will be conducted in English. For more information, click here.
Lego Workshop - Kindergarten and Elementary
Lego Workshop is a technological, creative, and fun workshop where students use their imagination and technical knowledge supervised by a Play Well teacher to create motorized structures with Legos. Students will learn about engineering, mechanical, architectural and construction concepts using LEGO bricks. https://www.play-well.fr/
Chess Club - Elementary and Middle School
Learning chess not only imparts valuable skills but instills essential values. Participants develop critical attributes such as thoughtful decision-making, logical reasoning, precise calculations, patience, self-control, and heightened focus. The journey through chess fosters personal rigor, self-confidence, and determination while nurturing respect for the game's rules and fellow players. Moreover, it cultivates a profound sense of fair play, promoting mutual benefit and respect for others. The chess classes follow a structured format beginning with a display panel explanation lasting 30-45 minutes, followed by player-to-player games spanning 45-60 minutes. In addition to these engaging activities, students have access to exercise sheets, chess puzzles, and tournaments. As a culmination of their hard work, each student will be rewarded with trophies, medals, and delightful gifts at the end of the year.
Multisports - Kindergarten and Elementary
Multisports offers a diverse range of athletic activities that allow children to explore and develop their physical abilities in a fun and inclusive setting. With a focus on teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship, Multisports encourages a well-rounded approach to sports and promotes an active and healthy lifestyle.
Judo - Elementary and Middle School
Judo is a martial art and sport that is particularly suitable for children. It teaches self-defense techniques and promotes physical fitness and coordination. Judo also instills important values such as respect, discipline, and teamwork, helping children develop confidence and self-esteem.
Saturday Morning Boosters - Elementary
The Saturday Morning Boosters continue this academic year. Sport sessions are led by parent volunteers and supported by Marymount staff. Children enjoy learning soccer and basketball skills through drills and short games (6 Saturdays per trimester). Parent volunteers are welcomed.
Jeux en français - Early Years
In the Jeux en français program, students will engage in traditional games conducted entirely in French, guided by a Marymount French teacher. Students will be introduced and practice new vocabulary in a dynamic and interactive setting. Through these activities, students will enhance their linguistic proficiency while discovering the cultural richness embedded within French traditions.
Stay and Play - Early Years
Stay and Play focuses on a different aspect of child development each week. Activities take place outside, weather permitting, or in the Early Years classrooms. Games, artwork, role play, and construction cover different aspects of children's learning and play, such as communication and language, art and creative development, and early reading and writing.
Study Hall - Grades 4-8
